A rāhui is currently in place along the Western Taranaki coast, from the Tapuae Stream to the Taungatara Stream, effective from 16 December 2024 to 15 December 2026. This temporary closure prohibits the collection of certain marine species, including shellfish and seaweed, to allow for population recovery and sustainable management.
