Bills RockFound in the Sugar Loaf Islands Marine Protected Area A very easy dive situated 300m west of Moturoa within the Sugar Loaf Islands Marine Protected Area. Bills Rock is one of the many rocky pinnacles found in the area. Here you will find a volcanic reef with plentiful kelp and loads of invertebrates, including zoanthids and bryozoans. The depth of the reef ranges from 8-22m. There are many overhangs and a cave on the eastern face. Marine life you could see include crayfish, groupers, snapper, crabs, conger and moray eels as well as many sponges and invertebrates.. A very scenic dive suitable for novice divers and snorkelling. Access is by boat from Port Taranaki. |
